Short Description

You will follow the Adriatic edge of Abruzzo along the Bike to Coast project, riding between natural reserves, pinewoods, fishing villages, and the first gentle hills. You will roll from the northern border with Marche toward the far south where Abruzzo meets Molise, with the sound of the sea as your constant companion. Along the way you will pass protected coastal landscapes, discover the iconic Trabocchi on the Teatine coast, and end your journey in the Gulf of Vasto - an authentic, evocative ride on two wheels.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in San Benedetto del Tronto
You will arrive at your accommodation in San Benedetto del Tronto. You will be able to explore the town, from the historic center up to the Torre, and along the Palm Promenade. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 2: San Benedetto del Tronto - Roseto degli Abruzzi (47 km; +300 m)
You will depart through the Sentina Nature Reserve. After crossing the Tronto River, you will start the Abruzzo cycle path to Cologna Spiaggia, then enter the Borsacchio Reserve and reach Roseto degli Abruzzi. Optional extra ride to the village of Montepagano. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 3: Roseto degli Abruzzi - Francavilla al Mare (40 km; +250 m)
You will ride through the pine forest of Pineto and the Marine Park of Torre di Cerrano, between Pineto and Silvi. After crossing the Ponte del Mare, you will arrive in Francavilla al Mare. Optional extra ride to villages in the Teatine hills. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 4: Francavilla al Mare - Fossacesia (35 km; +300 m)
You will cross the province of Chieti with a visit to Ortona. From the Acquabella Reserve you will begin to see the Trabocchi, the old fishing huts along the coast. You will continue along the Teatine shoreline to Fossacesia. Optional extra ride to the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere and the village of Fossacesia. In the evening, dinner on the Trabocco and overnight stay.

Day 5: Fossacesia - Vasto/San Salvo (39 km; +300 m)
You will experience the Trabocchi Coast, with the possibility of sunrise beneath a Trabocco. You will reach the Punta Aderci and Punta Penna Reserves, with dramatic scenery over the sea, and continue to the Gulf of Vasto, where the tour ends. You will be able to visit the historic center of Vasto. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, you will depart for your destination (train options available). End of services.
