If you choose to proceed with your booking on Life On a Bike, here is what you can expect once the deposit (typically 25% of the total price) is paid:
- Availability Verification: After your payment is securely processed via Stripe, we immediately coordinate with the local Tour Operator to verify availability for your selected dates and services.
- Booking Confirmation: You will receive an official confirmation email from us as soon as the Tour Operator confirms all services. In the unlikely event that the tour is unavailable, we will offer you an alternative or provide a full refund of your deposit within 7 days.
- Participant Details: We will then ask you to provide necessary information to finalize your trip, such as full names, room preferences, and bicycle specifications (height/type) for rentals.
- Balance & Travel Documents: The remaining balance (70%) will be automatically charged to your card 30 days before departure. Once the balance is settled, you will receive your final travel documents, including the hotel list, GPX tracks, and local support contacts.
Please note that Life On a Bike acts as a professional intermediary and payment collection agent. Your travel contract is directly with the selected Tour Operator, who is responsible for the organization and execution of your tour.

ITINERAY
DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN TRIESTE Independent arrival in Trieste. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Trieste. Overnight in Trieste.
DAY 2 FROM TRIEST-MUGGIA TO PIRAN At 09 am we have a welcome briefing and those who have ordered bike rental will get fitted with our bikes and other equipment. To avoid cycling with traffic in Triest we suggest to take a ferry from Triest to Muggia, departure times are: 10:10am and 11:20, duration 30 minutes, price per person+bike EUR 5.80. From Muggia you will cycle along the coastline passing Ankaran and then joining a traffic free asphalted cycle path - the former narrow-gauge railway line Parenzana which penetrates deeply into the Istrian peninsula connecting 33 Istrian towns between Porec and Trieste, located today on the territory of even three states. Trail goes along the coast, passing through towns of Koper, Izola and Piran. Overnight in Portorose/Piran. Distance: 44 km / 28 miles, Elevation: +463 m/-461 m , +1519 ft/-1512 ft
DAY 3 FROM PIRAN TO NOVIGRAD Today Parenzana takes all along Piran Bay through Portorož and Lucija towns to saltworks of Sečovlje.The Sečovlje salts flats are the northernmost salt flats in the Mediterranean. The salt is produced in the traditional way based on a 700-year-old method that harmonizes man and nature. You can visit it's museum. After you cross Slovenian - Croatian border Parenzana will take uphill along the gravel trail where you can enjoy the view on the whole bay with saltworks and the alps in the background. Road will take you to Savudrija lighthouse, which was according to the legend built by count Metternich as his love nest. Savudrija is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Adriatic, built in 1818. It is also the northernmost Istrian lighthouse. Continue through town of Umag and all along the Istrian coastline until you reach Novigrad. Overnight in Novigrad. Distance: 52km / 33 miles, Elevation: +379 m/-381m, +1243 ft/-1250 ft
DAY 4 FROM NOVIGRAD TO POREČ Today you are passing by Mirna river delta and riding along the coastline with beautiful bays where you can enjoy the breathtaking Mediterranean landscape with green olive groves. After 25 km you will reach town of Poreč. This is a town where you can find material and spiritual evidences of great cultures at every step. Ride along the old city center where you will find the Roman Forum, magnificent palaces from different historical periods, and to top it all, the famous Euphrasian Basilica (Euphrasiana).
Continue riding along the coast to reach Vrsar, a romantic fishermen village where the famous Casanova came back even two times. Following the trail along the vineyards and small villages you are back in Poreč. Distance: 53 km / 33 miles, Elevation: +543 m /-539m, +1781 ft/-1768 ft
