Short Description

You will start in Trieste, a lively border city shaped by the meeting of Mediterranean and Central European worlds. From here you will cross into Slovenia on gentle cycling paths, then follow the colourful Croatian coast into sunlit Istria. You will roll past fishing villages, small seaside towns, karst hills, valleys and vineyards—always with the Adriatic close by, and with plenty of chances to pause for a swim in hidden coves and bays.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Trieste
You will arrive independently in Trieste and settle into your hotel. You will have free time to explore the city and enjoy a good coffee.

Day 2: Trieste – Piran/Portorož (35 km or 65 km, depending on the variant)
After just a few kilometres you will cross the Italian border into Slovenia. You will follow pleasant cycle paths through Koper and Izola, then continue to Piran and Portorož, known for its thermal centres. For a shorter option, you may take the ferry from Trieste to Muggia (ticket not included). The longer variant runs inland through the Val Rosandra. From Muggia you will ride along the coast, accompanied by the reflections and scent of the sea.

Day 3: Piran/Portorož – Umag - Novigrad (35–60 km)
Soon after departure you will cycle through the Sečovlje salt pans, where salt is produced by natural evaporation. You will then ride towards the Croatian border and enter Istria, the largest peninsula of the Adriatic Sea. The landscape becomes gently hilly, and the route towards Umag passes orchards and vineyards. In the evening you can enjoy a walk through medieval lanes to the town tower.

Day 4: Umag/Novigrad – Porec (20–40 km)
You will ride along the coast to Novigrad, a small seaside town surrounded by fortified walls at the mouth of the Mirna (Quieto) River. You will continue to Porec, known for its artistic heritage, with the possibility to visit the UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica, rich in mosaics.

Day 5: Departure from Porec
You will depart independently, or you may choose to extend your stay.
