Short Description

An 8-day family cycling tour along the Adige River from South Tyrol to Lake Garda, covering 192 km on flat, car-free cycle paths through orchards and vineyards. Perfect for families with children. From €689 per person.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Schlanders/Naturns
You will arrive in the village of Schlanders or nearby Naturns in the Vinschgau valley. Depending on availability, free public parking is approximately ten minutes from the hotel, or directly at the hotel for an additional charge. Travel documents and rental bikes will be handed out. The evening is yours to explore this quiet South Tyrolean village.
Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel (Goldener Löwe or equivalent).

Day 2: Schlanders/Naturns – Meran (38 km)
You will ride past well-tended orchards on a path that descends almost constantly, with Dornsberg Castle rising on the hillside above. The cycle path follows the Adige valley floor through a landscape of apple trees, small villages, and mountain views all the way to the elegant spa town of Meran.
Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

Day 3: Meran – Bozen (33 km)
The route leads through vineyards to Sigmundskron Castle, one of Reinhold Messner's mountain museums. The bike path then guides you into the centre of Bozen, where the town's famous arcades — a covered shopping street lined with medieval facades — are waiting to be explored.
Overnight stay in a 3 or 4-star hotel on the outskirts of town.

Day 4: Bozen – Mezzocorona (44 km)
You will cycle along the Adige river, always on dedicated bike paths, past vineyards and orchards. The route reaches the Salurner Klause, the narrow gorge that marks the historic language border between the German-speaking and Italian-speaking parts of Tyrol.
Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

Day 5: Mezzocorona – Trento (26 km)
Via San Michele all'Adige, you will reach the centre of the old council city directly on the car-free cycle path. Mountain views open up on both sides of the valley as you approach Trento, a city of Renaissance palaces, piazzas, and the famous Council of Trent.
Overnight stay in a 4-star hotel.

Day 6: Trento – Rovereto (26 km)
A beautiful and relaxed ride along the Adige cycle path brings you to Rovereto, a town of culture and history with its old town centre and monuments. The route is flat and entirely on bike paths.
Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

Day 7: Rovereto – Arco/Riva del Garda (25 km)
Via Mori and the former Lago di Loppio, the route climbs slightly before descending through San Giovanni to Torbole, where Lake Garda suddenly appears before you. You will reach Arco or Riva del Garda — charming lakeside towns with a Mediterranean atmosphere.
Overnight stay in a 3 or 4-star hotel in Riva or in Arco.

Day 8: End of tour
Your Adige family adventure comes to an end after breakfast. Departure at your leisure, or book an extra night to enjoy Lake Garda — swimming, a family trip to Gardaland, or a visit to Caneva Water Park.
