Short Description

You will ride through the wide, green heart of Umbria, following quiet lanes between rivers, canals, and fields. From Assisi's hilltop silhouette to Roman Spello and lively Spoleto, you will discover towns shaped by centuries of history. With mostly gentle terrain and only a few short climbs, you will enjoy an easy flow through culture, landscapes, and authentic Umbrian villages.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Assisi
You will arrive at your hotel in Assisi. In the late afternoon, you will have a briefing and—if bikes are rented—bike delivery.

Day 2: Assisi – Casco dell'Acqua via Spello and Foligno (26 km; +166 m/-329 m)
You will ride to Spello and Foligno. In Spello, you will find Roman heritage (Porta Venere, aqueduct remains, amphitheatre ruins) and you can visit Santa Maria Maggiore for Pinturicchio's frescoes. You will then follow mostly flat countryside roads across Valle Umbra to Casco dell'Acqua.

Day 3: Casco dell'Acqua – Spoleto – Casco dell'Acqua (44–51 km; +146 to +292 m / -146 to -292 m)
You will pedal through olive groves to Spoleto, where you can explore the historic centre (cathedral, Ponte delle Torri, Rocca, Roman house, Roman theatre and archaeological museum). You will return to Casco dell'Acqua by bike.

Day 4: Casco dell'Acqua – Torgiano (51–53 km; +250 to +438 m / -272 to -430 m)
You will cross the valley toward Torgiano. Near Montefalco, you can choose an optional steep climb to visit the town and its wines (Rosso and Sagrantino di Montefalco), or continue to Bevagna with its beautiful square, fountain, and Romanesque churches, then on to Torgiano.

Day 5: Loop rides from Torgiano
Option 1: you will ride into Perugia's historic centre and return by descent (32 km; +400 m/-442 m). Option 2: you will cycle to Deruta (ceramics), visit the Pinacoteca in the Palazzo Comunale, continue to the Sanctuary of Madonna dei Bagni (17th century; over 600 votive maiolicas), pass villages such as Casalalta, and return across the Tevere valley (45 km; +508 m/-546 m or 30 km; +217 m/-215 m).

Day 6: Torgiano – Assisi (25 km; +251 m/-54 m)
You will ride on quiet roads with views of Assisi on the slopes of Monte Subasio. After your visit, you will return to your starting hotel.

Day 7: Departure
You will depart.
