Bicycle Illustrations: three artists not to miss

The coffee break is an important moment of the day and today we have decided to spend it together with some artists who have made stunning bicycle illustrations.

This means of transport has a unique charm and there are many who have made the bike a travel companion to discover the unexplored wonders, but also the typical experiences of their daily life. Maybe its ability to accompany people in a discreet, but always present way, has inspired graphic designers and illustrators from all over the world: here are three artists not to miss.

The bicycle illustrations of Thorsten Hasenkamm

Considered one of the most brilliant and sought-after German illustrators of the moment, Thorsten Hasenkamm has always had a special passion for the bicycle and, in particular, for those who choose to use it daily in the city, whether to go to work or enjoy a ride in nature. With very few strokes and little use of color, he perfectly describes the features and thoughts of the "fixed generation" of urban cyclists, giving them very current looks: boys and girls who cycle in the city are in fact his favorite subject and allow him to range widely with creativity, gifting artistic masterpieces every day.

Pencil drawings by Hyo Joon Yoon

Among the bicycle illustrations we want to talk about today, we could not miss the wonderful drawings, made strictly in pencil, by Hyojoon Yoon, also known by the stage name Panicmonk.

This illustrator, originally from Seoul, moved recently to France and has made bicycles his favorite subject. Whether it is about sports races, excursions in nature, climbs or descents, this wonderful means of transport is interpreted with always different keys, giving the viewer an authentic portrait of life in the saddle of their bike: it is impossible not to be captivated by his attention to detail.

The bicycle monsters of Elise Gravel

The third artist we cannot fail to mention is Elise Gravel, a Canadian artist born in Montreal in 1977, where she lives and works full time in the field of children's illustration.

Her bicycle illustrations are very particular and children cannot but remain enthralled: having become famous for her series dedicated to little monsters, Gravel has decided to combine two sources of inspiration and create a quite focused artistic project. Her lovely monsters, created specifically to exorcize children's fears, live their new adventures on fantastic bicycles: an unreal world in which colors and atmospheres blend between fantasy and dream.
