Enchanting places: 5 routes to feeling like you're in a fairy tale
Who hasn't ever stopped during a trip, looked at a landscape and said, "this place looks like it came out of a fairy tale!” Indeed, there are places whose atmospheres, lights, and colors take you into a world that seems so far removed from reality that it's hard to believe it's real. In such moments, a spark goes off making you remember that landscape as a place that belongs in a fairy tale. However, it is not always easy to find the right place to experience these sensations, often because they are locations outside the usual tourist routes or because we fail to establish enough contact with nature and the landscape. Today, therefore, we will be talking about some enchanting places, introducing 5 routes that will make you feel like you're in a fairy tale!
Cornwall A land rich in charm and mystery, Cornwall has been the setting for many of our childhood fairy tales. Its high, jagged coasts, the ever-moving ocean and the Celtic culture are what make it unique, after all, this is where King Arthur was born! For this reason, a trip to Cornwall immediately makes you feel like you're in an ancient fairy tale. The route is to be taken by bike starting from Truro, the most important city in the region, passing through the Lizard Peninsula, St. Michel’s Mount, Land’s End (the name alone is a promise) and returning to Truro via Portrath.
Land's End Finland Another land with Nordic traditions, Finland is renowned for the spectacle of the midnight sun, and that alone is a valid reason to describe it as a fairy-tale place. Adding to this, the forests and hundreds of lakes found in every corner of the country and you have a flawless case! The itinerary takes you on a bike ride through the peaceful roads of Eastern Finland accompanied by the silvery color of the lake waters reflecting the light of the sun. The light is the true star of this trip, a kind of light that will genuinely transport you into a fairy-tale world where towards the end, you may come across brown bears in their habitat. The journey starts from Kajaani and involves circular tours around the lakes, and in Vuokatti and Kuhmo.
Kuhmo Lakes and castles in Bavaria Bavaria too, with its elegant and imposing castles, provides fairy-tale emotions and romantic atmospheres that are hard to forget: this is the land of King Ludwig II and ancient legends. It's even better when traversed by foot, starting from Bad Hindelang, crossing the Hinterstein valley, the Falkenstein castle, the Hohenschwangau castle and all the beauties of the mid-German mountains.
Falkenstein Castle Dublin and the Castles of Ireland Ireland certainly could not be left out among the itineraries through fairy-tale places. Especially as Ireland is the homeland of leprechauns and green valleys that seem unreal. Ireland is a land of emotions, where Celtic culture reaches its peak and, in addition to natural beauty like cliffs, moors and rural landscapes, Ireland also has some cities and villages that you should not miss. The bicycle route passes through the legendary city of Tara, the legendary seat of the rulers where the king was chosen and crowned.

Jersey, Guernsey, Sark Their names alone seem to come straight out of a fairy tale: these are the 3 Anglo-Norman islands located off the Normandy coast, only an hour away from Saint-Malo. Once you arrive on these islands, you enter another world: fishing ports, cottages, flowered churches, cliffs and almost no motorized vehicles. A dive into the past where you can find unexpected tranquility. The bicycle route starts from Jersey, the largest of the 3, where you can admire cliffs and World War II fortifications. Then you visit Guernsey and Sark, and it is on the latter that motorized vehicles are not allowed, with only horse-drawn carts and carriages in use. A dream trip, or rather a fairy tale!
